General rules for official passports:
1. When Egypt hosts international conferences or such an important meeting, all our missions and consulates abroad are notified with a circular in order to grant entry visas free of charge to holders of official passports. The embassies and consulates will be asked to verify the required documents indicating the participation in the conferences.
2. If there is an agreement for mutual exemption from entry visas, in that case no visa is needed on the official passport, but the missions abroad will still have to verify the documents indicating the participation.
3. Arrangements shall be made to ensure that visas are granted upon arrival to participants holding official passports who reside in countries Egypt doesn't not maintain diplomatic or consular mission provided that their details are communicated to the Egyptian side in due time before the opening of the conference.
4. According to the instructions of the International Civil Aviation Organization, the entry visa must be granted on an official passport with a validity period of six months at least.
5. Egypt recognizes all official passports or laissez-passer issued by international and regional organizations, of which Egypt is a member, provided that they do not carry the status of an "observer" in the organization (In that case, they will have to enter with their national passports).

General rules for ordinary passports:
6. According to the instructions of the International Civil Aviation Organization, the entry visa must be granted on an ordinary passport with a validity period of six months at least.
7. If there is an agreement for exemption from entry visas, in that case no visa is needed on the ordinary passport, but the missions abroad will still have to verify the documents indicating the participation.
8. Participants holding ordinary passports shall submit complete visa application. along with all supporting documents to the competent Egyptian Embassies and Consulates abroad at least 8 weeks before the opening of the events.
